La Salle Catholic School Karen is a leading mixed private school inspired by the transformative educational vision of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. We belong to the worldwide Lasallian network—an international family of schools known for academic excellence, moral integrity, and faith-filled formation for over 300 years. Today, the Lasallian presence spans more than 1,100 schools in over 80 countries.
Founded in 2016 with 60 learners, La Salle Catholic School Karen has grown into a vibrant community of about 800 learners, supported by a committed and professional staff. The school is directed by Bro. Prof. Paulos W. Mesmer, FSC.
Curriculum and Learning Pathways
Our school implements the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), providing a world-class, holistic education that nurtures the mind, heart, and character of every learner. We offer a serene, safe, and well-structured learning environment supported by modern educational facilities, including smartboards and interactive projectors, a modern computer laboratory, science laboratories, and a well-equipped library—designed to promote excellence, creativity, and inquiry-based learning.
We serve learners across the following levels:
- Kindergarten: Play Group, Pre-Primary 1, Pre-Primary 2
- Primary School: Grades 1–6 3.
- Junior School: Grades 7–9 4.
- Senior School: Grades 10–12
At Senior School level, we offer all three pathways: STEM, Social Sciences, and Arts & Sports Science.
Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
At La Salle Catholic School Karen, learning goes beyond the classroom. We intentionally provide opportunities that nurture each learner’s gifts, talents, and leadership capacity. Through the Student Council, learners develop responsibility, communication skills, and servant leadership.
Our rich co-curricular program includes swimming, basketball, football, chess, art and design, taekwondo, skating, tennis, music, coding and robotics, World Scholars, Model United Nations, Scout, journalism, and drama among others that support creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
We also offer strong spiritual formation, guidance, and counselling programs that build Christian values and life skills while supporting learners’ social and emotional well-being.

Our school is proud of the achievements of our learners and the recognition received for excellence in academics, values, and co-curricular activities:
- Academic Excellence: Our learners posted outstanding performance in the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).
- World Scholars Cup: La Salle Catholic School Karen was ranked 26th globally at the World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions held at Yale University, USA, in November 2025.
- Values-Based Award: Global Peace Foundation Kenya recognized our school as the Best School in Kenya for excellence in values implementation.
- Co-curricular Excellence: Our learners have received recognition for exemplary performance in chess and swimming at national and African levels.
